family pics

2 weeks ago we went with Matt & Jen's family to take pictures for Christmas Cards
This isn't the best picture of Skye but I love Jordyn's face. She was saying cheese.

My favorite pictures that I took of Matt & Jen's kids
There was some kind of a mix up in heaven when kids were being assigned to parents...She should have been mine. I have a special place in my heart for this girl!!!

And this is our Christmas card for this year. You have all seen it because it's our blog header but I wanted to put it on here so that I would have it to remember

Our 8 year old gingerbread house

Regan and I made this gingerbread house our 1st Christmas together. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away so it has been up on the shelf in my old bedroom at my parents house since. It's the Grinch and Skye is all about the Grinch right now, so I brought it home for her to see it. She will just sit a stare at it. I can tell she wants to touch it so bad but she doesn't. I told her that it was fragile and would break if she touched it. It's very fragile. It is 8 years old and I'm sure that is well past a gingerbread houses' life span. However, I knew that if I brought it home it wouldn't survive. So I took a picture to remember it by and I'm so glad I did because my visiting teachers were here with their kids this morning and a toy hit it and broke the sign. I love looking at it. It brings back so many memories of our 1st Christmas together. I was so crazy in love with him. Not that I'm not in love with him now but then...I was completely infatuated with him. It was the on top of the world, cloud nine love. We have been through A LOT together since and now it's a much deeper love. This Christmas we are very blessed to have 2 miracles to enjoy it with. I would have never imagined 8 years ago the roads we would take to get where we are today and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else by my side through it all.

Christmas Lights

Skye is so intrigued with Christmas lights. We drove around Cache Valley for an hour tonight looking at every ones lights. Which by the way...What has Logan come to??? When I was a kid there wasn't a house without lights. Now there are more houses without then with and if they do have them they are just white ones, no color whatsoever. It kind of puts a damper on the season. Anyways, Skye would get so excited when we did see a house lit up. She kept saying it's SOOO BEAUTIFUL!!! Then she switched to saying WOW every time. It didn't take Jordyn too long to start chiming in with that one. Every time Skye would say it Jordyn would say it right after. I was loving it. I have got to take them down to Temple Square. Skye would think it was the coolest thing ever.

Skye The Shopper

Yesterday We had to go and try to do some more Christmas shopping...Yuck!!! I usually love to shop but I hate shopping for other people and trying to figure out what they would like. Not to mention Jordyn is not liking the carts lately which makes my shopping real fun. So if your husband is MIA and you are shopping with 2 kids and one hates seating in the cart I highly recommend Smiths Market Place. Skye grabbed one of those little carts and off we went. She thought she was pretty neat pushing her own cart of groceries. It was so funny though, her and another little girl where doing the cart dance trying to get around each other. The girls and the moms were both laughing. Needless to say I did find a gift and got the necessities. So for me that is a success.

I guess we're not going on the adoption register:(

Regan and I have been getting ready to go back on the adoption register. I was going to wait until after Hawaii so that we would have some fun family pictures to put in our profile. However we don't have an agency or our records so that's not going to be happening. A while back I seen on the news that they were not getting enough donations and might have to close their doors. I figured if they did, that they would at least contact me saying that they were going to. My mom's friend has a girl that she works with that was wanting to go through Children's Aid. They told her to come back after she had been married a year. She called and got a message saying that the line was disconnected. She then emailed them and got a response saying that they weren't placing babies anymore but are keeping the records they have on file. I still didn't think anything of it. I figured that meant that they would still have me on file and if they couldn't help place a baby then I could just transfer my records to another agency. Last week I was talking to my mom's friend and she was saying how I should just call down and see about my records and $8000.00. So I finally called and got the same message saying that the line was disconnected. I used to have my caseworkers cell phone number in my phone but I don't anymore and I don't have it written down anywhere. So, I emailed them asking about my records and the money. That was a week ago and I still haven't heard anything. I'm assuming that it means I'm out of an adoption and $8,000.00. That money would have came in handy for another in-vitro. Oh well...Plan B it is. Let's just hope my snow babies thaw out and make another Jordyn!!!!

New Nephew

Today was an exciting/stressful/great day. I was able to see my new nephew Cole Marc Thompson's birth. That makes my count of watching live births up to 4 now. One daughter and 3 nephews. Not many people can say that. The ironic thing is the one birth I didn't get to see was Jordyn's. I had a huge sheet in front of my face. I'm not complaining though. My husband did a great job of not fainting until after he recorded her coming out. Poor Regan, he will never live that down. I am so thankful to Kim, Jen and Brittany for letting me be a part of the experience! I don't know too many sister-in-laws that have sister-in-laws come in to the delivery room. Sisters yeah but not sister-in-laws. I wish I could return the favor but I like to do things the hard way.
Cole was born at 12:22 p.m.(I think). He weighed in at 8lbs 1oz and 21 inches long. He had a ton of fluid in him and was really gurgly. He was having a little bit of a hard time breathing so they hooked him up to a c-pap(probably didn't spell that right)for a while. They took it off and he still wasn't breathing great so they had to give him an IV and draw blood for tests. Of coarse they couldn't get a vein and the poor little guy had to keep getting poked. we were all stressing out. As many of you know. My family doesn't handle stress too good. As the day went on the tests came back fine and by the end of the day he was able to go to mommy's room. I only have this one picture that I took with my phone but I plan to go back down at the end of the week and get a bunch.
Happy Birthday Cole!!!

Gingerbread House

On Friday Sheri and her kids came over and we decorated gingerbread houses while we waited for the guys to get home. I assembled the house, slapped some frosting on it and let Skye go to town. With a little help from Tyler here and there she made a pretty dang cute gingerbread house. She was loving it and 4 days later there is only 3 pieces of candy missing. Shocking!!! I thought it would be completely eaten by now. She must be proud of it and not want to ruin it because it's not like her to not eat candy.

Tyler and Abbi's gingerbread house. Tyler decorated on side and Abbi did the other
