What a GREAT Day!!!!

Today was such a fun day!! I enjoyed every minute of it. I took Cole's pictures and hung out with Brittany all day. I haven't had a chance to look over them very good yet but from what I did see, we got some really cute ones. Then tonight we went to the Coppermill for her and Jen's baby shower. There is nothing better than eating and laughing with some of your favorite people. Cheryl, Missy, Marnie, my mom, Jen, Britt, Teisha and Tyra were there. Lynley couldn't make it, she had surgery today to remove the hardware from her back. We were laughing and having such a great time that I'm sure the other tables were getting annoyed. Then to top it off Regan came home tonight, YAY!!! He brought home some good news saying that he isn't working tomorrow. Double YAY!!!! I'm sure the next couple of days are going to be equally fun. I love when Toph and Britt get to come up. It makes the Holidays a little more merry when they are celebrating it with us.

Thompson Christmas Party

Last night we had the Thompson Christmas party. I love this party! I look forward to it each year. It was the usual people there (our family, Cheryl's family and Rod & Sue's family). We had it at a church this year instead of someones house. Which we haven't done since we had the party with my grandparents and all of the cousins when I was little. We ate and then Santa came. Santa sang some songs with the kids and then they all climbed on his knee. There was even a few adults that got a turn to sit on his lap. This was Skye's 5th time seeing Santa clause this year. She has got her list down pretty good. She always starts off with an IXL, then the Pooping dog and then the trip to Hawaii. Last night though she added a pillow pet. Looks like Santa may need to do some last minute shopping. Jordyn loves Santa from a distance. At Beaver she was saying HO-HO-HO and doing her squeal laugh, until I tried to put her on his knee. Then she freaked out. Last night she was saying HO-HO-HO but was clinching on my shoulder pretty hard. I wanted a picture of her on his lap even if she was screaming so I made my mom put her on there. It didn't go over too good. I remember Skye just looked at him funny an never cried. They have such different personalities. After Santa left, we played the gift game which is kind of drama. It's not a very kid friendly game. There is always a kid that ends up crying because they don't like what they opened. But that doesn't stop the adults from wanting to play it each year. I think we need to bring back the paper bag game. I miss watching Cheryl face plant to the floor. Aside from my mom spelling the beans(literally), the party was a success and we had a great time, full of great memories.

Families are Forever

Tonight I was able to go see my cousin Marnie go through the temple and be sealed to her cute little family. We aren't your average cousins. I'm really close to her, her sister Missy and my aunt Cheryl. When we were little we would have sleep overs every night in the summers. Now days we go down to St.George for girl trips. I am so proud of her and Max. They have a perfect little family and now it's an eternal one. It's so obvious how much they love each other and their little guy. They are an example to us all. It was so neat how Skyler was crying, wanting his mom and as soon as they put his hand on theirs and said his name, he stopped crying and looked over at his mom and then his dad and didn't cry again until after it was over. It's so weird, it's like they know what is going on. I love watching sealings when a baby is involved. It brings back so many memories of when we were sealed to Skye. I hope I never forget how I felt that day. It was the very first time I felt it in my heart that she was mine, that she was meant to be with us and that it was Heavenly Father's plan. I knew it all along and when people would say she was meant to be with you, she just came a different way. I knew they were right but I didn't feel it. I loved her more than anything!! I loved her just as much as any mom has ever loved their baby, probably more. But, I didn't have that, "She is Mine feeling". Probably because up until the day before, I had to get permission to leave the state with her and she wasn't legally ours yet. As I was sitting in that same exact sealing room tonight. I was straight across from where I was sitting 3 years ago when they brought in my sweet baby dressed in white with her lips puckered. As soon as I saw her I got this burning sensation in my chest and right then and there I felt this wave of peace, and a happiness that I have never felt before and a voice in my head saying this is right, she was meant to be in this family, she is your baby. I believe it was more than just a voice in my head. The only other time that I  felt the spirit that strong in my whole life, is when I met Kim for the 1st time. I don't remember what she was doing during the sealing except for a motor boat noise that she would always do at that age. I remember hearing her make that noise and giggling to myself but for some reason I always look down at those kind of things. I didn't look at Regan when we got married either. Everyone said she was smiling. I like to think she knew what was going on. I love her so much!!! I can't imagine our lives without her in it. She has brought so much joy and happiness to our family. She is so special that one mother wasn't enough. She deserved the love of 2. I am so GRATEFUL  that I get the privilege of being her mother. I just wish I was better at it. She deserves so much more than what I give her. I HATE how hard I am on her at times. She is so smart that I forget that she is only 3 and I demand way more out of her than I should. I love my girls and my husband more than words can say and I'm sooo soooo thankful that I will be with them forever!!!!!!!!!!
These are the only pics of that day that I could find. I hope I didn't lose the others.

Mommy Daughter Day

We did our Mommy Daughter Day a day early again. We went to the movie Tangled. I loved it! Skye not so much... A little too intense for her. I think it is definitely the cutest princess movie. Hopefully another cartoon comes out before next month. If not I will have to take her to the Fun Park and that soft play isn't so soft. I had huge bruises on my knees from trying to follow her through the tunnels last time we went for a Mommy Daughter Day. I guess we could try bowling. That seems a little less exhausting.

She's not possessed....Just getting molars

I figured out why Jordyn has been so ornery lately. Yesterday I put my finger in her mouth to see if there was any sign of a molar and was totally shocked when I felt one that had just cut through. They other 3 seem to be getting close to cutting through. She has 3 huge lumps. I can't remember if I blogged about when she got her 1st tooth, so I will jot it down now. She shocked us with that one too. We were up at the cabin all weekend with my family and she was good as gold. On Father's Day we were driving home and I noticed in the car that she cut a tooth that night. She now has 7 teeth and  3 on the way.

Kick off to Holiday Parties

Friday was Jon Kraus' Christmas party. We ate, talked, laughed and played the white elephant game. It was a ton of fun and it was so nice to have a night with just adults.

Mine and Regan's white elephant gifts
Last night we went up to Beaver for Jay Dee Barr's Christmas party. He's a contractor in the Valley. Regan and his brothers have done a lot of work for him so he invites us. Last year Skye got her Star Song My Little Pony stuffed animal and this year she got the game Mouse Trap. They had a way good dinner and then the kids went skiing. Skye only last 2 runs but Regan probably wouldn't have lasted much longer. Jordyn was content just climbing on the tables and throwing Kennedi's sippy, Rylee's ball and my goggles in the trash. Oh and pulling the ornaments off of the tree. That's why our tree is only decorated half way down.

One exciting Santa

family pics

2 weeks ago we went with Matt & Jen's family to take pictures for Christmas Cards
This isn't the best picture of Skye but I love Jordyn's face. She was saying cheese.

My favorite pictures that I took of Matt & Jen's kids
There was some kind of a mix up in heaven when kids were being assigned to parents...She should have been mine. I have a special place in my heart for this girl!!!

And this is our Christmas card for this year. You have all seen it because it's our blog header but I wanted to put it on here so that I would have it to remember
